The weather is warm, the birds are chirping in the background and my mom is busy making me breakfast. She says it's important to start with something healthy in my tummy.
She walks over to the table and plants a large bowl filled with oats in front of me.
I became an oat lover on that day.
It's part of my 24/7 cleansing plan that not only detoxes the intestines, but also clears my skin.
Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day and I'm still eating oats.
Breakfast gives us energy to take on the day ahead. Yet, one of the things we don't do is eliminate our meals before or after breakfast.
Here's what I propose:
Let's start the day detoxing our body with fiber foods. Fiber foods like steel cut oats / oat groats / vegetables / green smoothies.
If you don't detox/cleanse/eliminate regularly you may experience some of these:
- Brittle nails
- Dry Scalp/Skin
- Low Energy etc
Simple Steel Cut Oats Recipe
- 4 cups of filtered/spring water
- 1 cup of steel cut oats
- a dash of cinnamon
- a dash of nutmeg
- a pinch of himalayan salt
- 1/2 cup of non-dairy milk (almond, rice, hemp etc)
Add steel oats to boiling water
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, himalayan salt (or any other spices you like)
Cover and let it simmer for 20-30 mins.
Once done add milk and sweetener ( stevia, maple syrup grade A or B)
* want a thicker recipe? use 3 cups of water. Play around with the recipe to your liking
